• You can probably do a fine job, if you try to be humble, diligent (practice etc) and take things just one step at a time. Enjoy learning and growing.
• I think there is no substitute for praying before doing anything. (See verses in 2 Ne 30 or 31 about praying so our performance is consecrated for gain. Etc.)

• Trick for quieting the congregation before sacrament meeting -- I found it very useful in one ward.
• Resources: There are many good music learning, theory materials, etc about learning & to get better, and even for various kinds of music.
• One big help in my youth was that it was very easy for me to get in & practice the organ -- just call out to Dad "I'm taking the key..." and walk over.
