Being prepared to receive gifts can mean doing one's homework: seeking God and studying the particular issue.

• Someone wise said: "...if you want to get revelation, do your homework."
• This to me includes not only daily prayer & scripture study over time, but a continual striving to obey the things one knows they should be doing.
• ...and it can involve pondering, learning from apostles, & from the best books, words of wisdom... (D&C 88), but not getting caught up in wordly wisdom & noise.
• In other words, while working on an issue, be *very* patient & diligent, and hold to the rod of iron (the word of God): it gets us through many things!
• We believe anyone can know for themselves if the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is God's official organization on the earth.
• I get my best ideas for decision-making if i have done my homework, thought about (probably listed) the pros & cons, talked w/ someone helpful, praying, etc.
• Certainly the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has shown good fruits (results for many people, across generations), that I have seen personally.
• How I learned God is real & cares (and you can too), and I find that extremely helpful in life: many long-considered reasons for peace and motivation, even...
