• It can be written out fully or in an outline (or both, in a way).
• One could: first study the scrs and the conference talks about that subject, and write down the main points that you feel the Spirit prompting to convey.
• Find stories & quotes, experiences etc that show it's true for the benefit & motivation/encouragement of the particular audience.
• One could also: carry a paper/pen and as ideas occur over the days, or stories/experiences that illustrate the main points, note them.
• Think about the audience & seek inspiration about their needs, and what & how to present for their benefit.
• Then organize the ideas & supporting info in a way that will convey them helpfully to the audience.
• If it is for a lesson in a class, think about learning/using good teaching methods, consulting the various excellent Church teaching resources.
• Spend adequate time editing, reviewing, thinking, and mental practice of the delivery.
• Do take advice from the presiding authority.
