Did not Christ receive pain as a way to heal others? He is "full of grace and truth" (ref?). When we learn & practice that, we are practicing a good ability.

• It seems that He always did it with honesty, truth, kindness, consideration for the individual, courtesy, love, motivated by unselfish desire to life & help.
• He understood perfectly what individuals were going through, and their motivations. We can pray for the Spirit, for gifts, for love, then "observe and serve".
