Why have maturity models?:

• It is a way to collect and make systematic the resources and ways for a person to grow in an area of their choice at any given time.
• I wanted to be a better person in many ways, and there were many things I needed to learn. I thought: why not make it easier for others to learn also?
• There are some things in common we all need to learn.
• There are many things we can learn, and the process can be enhanced vs. trial and error or going to so many different sources and comparing for what is best.
• Is this just one more of those sources, adding to the clutter? Maybe. It does not pretend to be authoritative, but to point toward goodness.
• "What is the use of growing old? You learn something of men and things but never until too late to use it."
