Be careful about places that use a cell phone #, say, texting to it, as verification of who you are.
It seems that ID thieves have found...
...found convenient ways to switch cell phones to their own SIM card, and thus can impersonate you quickly with anyone who does that (some banks? etc).
It is also worth calling your mobile phone provider to ask about preventing someone switching your phone to them without your permission.
