There is an enjoyable ~"yale music appreciation course" on youtube.com that explains different styles, how parts of music relate, etc.
They say that listening is key! (And later, for example, playing along with recorded or broadcast music, or with other live people.)
Another listening benefit: having a variety of familiar, beautiful pieces in one's mind to "replay" mentally on demand can be very relaxing and helpful.
While listening, think, what kind of dancing or work could go w/ that?
