Other tips on giving talks

• There is no substitute for the words of the Savior and His apostles. It seems that our own words and ideas must echo, compatibly point to those (or not say?).
• Speak only per D&C 52:14-19, "He that speaketh...". That is well worth reviewing (with section 50 also).
• Don't be a distraction from the message: the purpose is to serve, & to lead souls to Christ, not to draw attention to oneself.
• If possible give it some time (hours or days), then repeat/review/edit as per the above, practice more, pray more.
• Be gentle. The Savior's way of teaching is very instructive (as in a somewhat recent conference talk, like maybe 2019-4 or before).
• Pray & think about the audience, seeking the Lord's will at every step (and immediately before, even during the talk, if possible?)
• Be certain the service is done in humility, & harmony w/ Him, not thinking mainly of oneself.

• The scriptures and general conference are wonderful for life instruction and example. There is no substitute for seeking the Holy Ghost as a mentor.
• Possibly, divide the material into timed sections so can be flexible on which to use or drop, as time limits or the Spirit dictate.
• Possibly, review, edit, practice word-for-word, & time the sections. Consider doing like a good one I saw did: simplicity, clarity, sincerity, testimony.
