So, privacy does matter. (Though realistically, it is increasingly difficult to maintain, which we can accept, and having a clear(ed) conscience does help.)

• Following Jesus Christ, in truth, can really help clear our conscience, free us from (in my opinion) extortion/blackmail, definitely from fear, etc etc.
• It seems that someday everything will be known and in the open (ref: many scriptures). It seems unhelpul to jump ahead to there(?), amid much dishonesty now.
• God has promised peace in this life, and Eternal life in the world to come, if we follow Him with all our hearts, keep His commandments, and endure to the end.
