The reason they don't write it separately in the hymnbook is probably because of how much more room it would take up.

• The hymnbook is written for congregation, home, everyone, and is adapted to varying skill levels. But as musicians, we can fill in things sometimes.
• It is for us (under the director) to adapt what we do to fit needs of situations.
