• other quick thoughts not yet edited in well, but:
• The latest: I lack the ability to always follow the details on it, but if it is still a risk, or enacted, either the below still applies, or it is sadly late.
• Good news ~2017-04: the provision to draft women was removed from final versions of the bill signed by President Obama.
• Bad news ~2017-01: someone told me the senate approved a bill with forcibly drafting women. Not sure how it will play out in reconciliation with the house.
• Good news 2016-05-17: US House removes the provision. Looks like it is still in a senate version, but at least some people are speaking to the issue.
• Why this is URGENT, completely unacceptable, and a seriously self-destructive step for our nation.
• This is different from disagreement over taxes, gay marriage or transgender bathroom use etc., because it involves taking women from their homes by law...
• Women can enlist. They have the choice, now. But don't *force* our mothers, sisters, and daughters, into combat against their will.

• I am sorry that people have not always behaved as they should.
• Let us not make things even worse for any oppressed person, regardless of the reason.
• Let us not force our daughters into anything against their will, even if it has been done in any form before.
• Do we really wish, that instead of giving us our lives, our mothers had been ... getting weapons training, PTSD, rape or death, in the military?
• Even broad consensus doesn't make it right, or acceptable.
• I do not think women are less capable, but their role is very precious, and men's role includes sacrificing our lives if needed to protect what is so precious.
• Women have risked their lives in bringing forth new life, and on other noble occasions. But we must not force our daughters into war against their will!
• Anyone who has any sense of truth, duty, honor, or virtue must be strongly opposed to this and should take action now to protect our precious daughters.
• Every father who can, w/o risking his ability to support his family, might consider working on this urgent issue in some way.
